Technical Data: Vintage: 1997. Denomination of Origin: D.O. Ca. Rioja. Type: Red. Alcohol content: 12,5% alc. / vol. Grape variety: 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha & 10% Mazuelo / Graciano. Grape source: The Rioja Alta Region. Sweetness index: 2 g./l. Dry. Production method: After a careful fermentation, the wine is kept in vats for a stabilisation period of 12 months in order to be fully stabilized and is then transferred to oak casks for its ageing. Gran Reservas are kept in oak casks for a period of 36 months depending on the particular vintage, type of wine and the final decision of the wine-maker. Maturation site: Old Cellar at Cenicero. Type of oak casks: Part of first year in new oak, rest of time in casks with an average age of 6 years. Tasting comments: Deep ruby red, with tawny hues. Gran Reservas have a subtle aroma derived from their oak and bottle ageing. Harmonious and smooth but also full and meaty, presenting a full range of pleasant sensations both in the nose and in the mouth.
