Founded in 1877 by the Martinez Berberana family in Olauri (La Rioja Alta), Berberana continues to combine the new technologies with the century traditions in the entire process of preparing its brands.

In 1975 we moved to Cenicero, our present wine cellar, for just one purpose: to satisfy the growing demand for our brands in the market, combining new technology with tradition in their production.

At Berberana we fully control the production, from the vineyard to the bottle. The 5 leading co-operatives in La Rioja, with more than 3,000 hectares, are important shareholders in our company, allowing us to directly supervise the wine making process completely to the full and enjoy a flexibility that is unique in la Rioja.

Since the beginning, we have been recognised for our emphasis on quality. To mantain this, our facilities indlude:

• 30,000 m² of wine cellars within a property of 40,000 m².
• 50,000 American oak casks.
• More than 2,500,000 bottles in our vaults.
• A grape harvest plant, capable of processing 25,000 kg. of grape daily.
• Modern bottling lines.

As a result, Berberana has an extensive range of quality brands for an ever more demanding market.
